Both cottages are centuries old, Culls Cottage dating from 1670. So they naturally have a number of low beams and doorways. However, both cottages do have some rooms which obtain full height into the eaves. To be truly sure if the cottage is for you we would strongly suggest that you take the walk round tours on the individual cottage pages.

 

The Costwolds is a very rural area and we would strongly recommend you bring your own car or hire one. Although buses do run between the major towns and villages they are not frequent. Visiting attractions is a good deal easier if you have your own car.

Although there are a number of Taxi companies in our area, it is important to book them in advance for any trip you wish to make.

While you may be lucky enough to get a table midweek without booking, we would strongly recommend booking for weekends and Bank Holidays. We have some wonderful food pubs and restaurants in our area of The Cotswolds and they are very popular. We always suggest you book to avoid disappointment.

We would not recomend travelling to our area by train unless you are picking up a hire car. However, one of your party may be joining you seperately and coming by train.

The most frequent fast train services from London goes to Oxford Station. There are also slower trains that will stop at Shipton Under Wychwood, closer to The Chestnuts. However, both of these stations are still some distance from our cottages. Swindon Station also has frequent and fast trains from London and The West and is closer to Culls Cottage but is still some distance away.

Both of our cottages are pet free. This is to protect those with allergies

Our cottages are No Smoking and No Vaping. This applies to inside the properties and in the gardens.

We love to welcome families, especially those with babies or toddlers. However, only you as the parent can tell whether they are suitable for your child. We do not supply plug guards etc. Some furniture naturally has corners and our floors downstairs in both cottages are stone flagestone floors. So a little hard if fallen on. However, they can also be super cosy with the underfloor heating.

Unfortunatly our housekeepers need the maximum time between check-out at 10am and check-in of new guests at 4pm to get the cottages ready. So, on most occassions this isn't possible. However, occassionally we are able to accommodate this, so do just ask at the time of booking. 

You may never want to step outside of our cottages or gardens, except maybe to go to the local village pub for supper. Our area really does have attractions for visitors of all ages. Check out our local attractions page.

Whilst Eco Chic Cottages doesn't have its own chef, we can make some suggestions of people you might try in the area. You are also very welcome to contact other chefs and whoever you decided to book, we would just ask that we know their name, the date they are visiting and see a copy of their public liability insurance. We don't take any commission on chefs that you book. 

Many guests have held special celebrations dinners at our cottages, however, they can only be for your stay group and no additional guests are allowed to visit without prior permission. Out of respect for our neighbours and the properties, parties are not allowed.
